Chemical heat treatment is to make the X60 pipeline surface infiltrate one or more chemical element atoms, thus changing the chemical composition, structure and properties of the X60 pipeline surface.After quenching and tempering at low temperature, the surface of the X60 pipe has high hardness, wear resistance and contact fatigue strength, while the core of the X60 pipe has high strength and toughness.

X60 pipeline surface quenching and tempering heat treatment

Surface hardening and tempering heat treatment is usually carried out by induction heating or flame heating.The main technical parameters are surface hardness, local hardness and effective hardening layer depth.Hardness testing may be performed by a Vickers hardness tester, or by a Rockwell or surface Rockwell hardness tester.The selection of the test force (scale) depends on the depth of the effective hardening layer and the surface hardness of the X60 pipeline.There are three kinds of durometer involved.
